Should Wenger Move For Former Striker Eduardo?

Croatian, Eduardo left the Gunners in the summer of 2010 after three seasons which yielded 21 goals in 67 appearances, in all competitions. However, his time with the Gunners was blighted by the horrible leg injury he sustained in February 2008 which put him out of action for a year.

The 30-year-old has been in decent form for the Ukrainian side, scoring 18 league goals in 67 league matches and helping Shakhtar win the league title for the past three seasons.

However, there has been mounting speculation that Eduardo is planning to quit Ukraine this month and he has now revealed his desire to re-join the Gunners before the window closes on 31st January. According to Metro, Eduardo has admitted he would like a second bite at the cherry with Arsene Wenger’s table-toppers.

He said, “Of course I’d like to go back to Arsenal. I don’t know anything about their interest, but everybody knows that when I left, everything was done in a friendly manner. I’m still friends with Arsene Wenger and have spoken to him several times. I still have many friends that live in London too. I want to play more ahead of the World Cup.”

Wenger currently has a shortage of strikers with Bentdner out for a month and Walcott ruled out for the rest of the season. Even Giroud has been plagued with niggles over the last 2 weeks.

Do you think Wenger should move to re-sign Eduardo this January?
