Should Wenger Bring In Another Striker

Should Wenger Bring In Another Striker

Arsenal definitely need a third striker to offer Olivier Giroud proper competition and also help him get some well-deserved rest every once in a while. The big question is who should come to the Emirates this summer. Should Wenger spend big and push the transfer budget in order to secure players like Benzema, Cavani, Mandzukic or Higuain or should he try finding a rising star or someone with potential similar to Barcelona’s El Haddadi or even Tottenham’s Harry Kane. There is a last resort which might come in the form of an older more experienced player but at the same time affordable strikers such as Gignac.

The list of options is quite comprehensive and will represent a massive challenge for the club. Wenger will have to decide whether to focus the biggest part of the transfer budget on the attack or on the defense. Unfortunately Arsenal cannot afford to strengthen all departments with players over £35m considering there is a chance to remain exposed in certain areas of the pitch which can make the entire team stumble. According to most experts and former club legends the Gunners will need at least 2 or 3 quality players to be able to compete for the Champions League and the Premier League. With a budget of about £70m it is hard to believe Emirates will see players like Hummels, Schneiderlin, Reus, Cavani and Cech dressed in the Red and White shirt. Hopefully at least one or two will make it to North London this summer.
