Alexandre Lacazette captained the side as Arsenal won 2-1 against Rapid Vienna last night but it was a frustrating display from the Frenchman.
The striker may have scored three goals this season, but his all-round game leaves a lot to be desired. He struggled to hold up the ball or make any real contribution before he was substituted six minutes from time in Austria.
Lacazette’s below-par display did not go down well on Twitter with many supporters not happy with how the 29-year-old performed yesterday evening:
Should had sold him this summer…

He doesn't make the cut for me. I am waiting for Martinell to recover from injury. We should sell Lacazette and buy a replacement during the January transfer window – the young striker from Celtic, for example

I’ve slightly given up on him

He isn’t good. When I said he is the third best CF at the club I wasn’t lying

basically not good enough

His hold up play is awful, bounces off his foot nearly every time

It's not inconsistent. He is just bad. Can't hold the ball, always fouls.

It think this will be his last season aswell as Pepe. Doesn’t do enough anymore.

It seems as though manager Mikel Arteta, like the fans, is also far from convinced about Lacazette. Despite starting him in the first three league games of the season, he was an unused substitute against Sheffield United earlier this month while he only came on for the last 20 minutes in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City last weekend. It will be interesting to see whether he starts against Leicester City on Sunday
