‘Should Have Sold Him 2 Years Ago’ ‘Spent Force’ Fans Reflect On Arsenal Ace’s Poor Performances

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came off the bench against Everton last night and missed a golden chance to equalise with the last touch of the game.

The 32-year-old flashed a shot wide of Jordan Pickford’s left-hand post in the dying moments, condemning the Gunners to a second straight defeat.

Aubameyang was left out of the starting lineup by manager Mikel Arteta, following his recent struggles in front of goal, and supporters on Twitter have been discussing the striker’s future at the club:

Statistics don’t lie. Aubameyang is averaging 0.12 goals per shot this season, which is the lowest figure since arriving in England. His finishing since the start of the campaign is also well below average for a top striker (-1.8 for goals minus xG).

It was hoped that, after a good start to the season in front of goal, the Gabonese international had rediscovered some form after a poor 2020/21 campaign but it seems the rot has well and truly set in.
