Sevilla name price for N’Zonzi amid Arsenal and Roma interest

Sevilla reportedly want £26.7million for Arsenal and Roma target Steven N’Zonzi.

The former Blackburn Rovers midfielder is wanted by both sides after an impressive campaign in La Liga and having won the World Cup with France.

It was believed Roma had won the race for the sought-after star earlier this week, with reports suggesting the Serie A side had agreed a £22 million deal for the Frenchman.

However recent reports now state Sevilla have rebuffed Roma’s offer for N’Zonzi, and will hold out for nearly £5 million more.

Talks are due to continue between the two parties to reach an agreement, however Roma’s reluctance to pay over the odds for the midfielder could leave the door open for Arsenal to land the 29-year-old.

Unai Emery is keen on a re-union with N’Zonzi having managed him during his time at Sevilla, with the Spanish manager  looking to round off an already busy summer with another blockbuster deal.

The Gunners have already completed five signings this summer in the former of Stephan Lichtsteiner, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira and Mattéo Guendouzi.
