Fiorentina will make an official offer for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira imminently, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Uruguayan international is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid but he has not been given much game time at the La Liga side since his move back in October.
With that in mind, Fiorentina are hoping that the Gunners will recall Torreira and allow him to make a loan switch to Italy instead. The Serie A side are also believed to be prepared to include an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
It is said that the Viola would not be willing to go over €11m (£9.8m) with their offer for the 24-year-old, which is unlikely to sway Arsenal, who spent £26m on the Uruguayan two and a half years ago.
Losing over half the player’s value, even during the current financial climate, may not be seen as acceptable to the Gunners, especially as Torreira has other suitors in Italy as well.
