Serie A Side Looking To ‘Auction’ Serbian Star For 50M As Arsenal And Manchester United Both Circle

Lazio are planning to “auction” Sergej Milinkovic-Savic before the transfer window closes, according to Il Mattino.

The Italian newspaper claims that the Serbian international is on Juventus’s radar but Lazio are hoping that Arsenal and Manchester United also firm up their interest so they can receive a fee between €50m (£42m) and €60m (£50m).

There have been other stories over the past couple of weeks linking the Gunners with Milinkovic-Savic, although there are suggestions that the playmaker wouldn’t be interested in making the switch to the Emirates.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has recently weighed in on the reports, although he didn’t have any definitive information either way on whether Mikel Arteta’s side would be looking to pursue the midfielder.

Milinkovic-Savic would, though, be a lot more expensive than the main alternative, Youri Tielemans. It is believed that the Belgian may only cost between £25m and £35m with the player having less than a year left on his contract.
