Serie A Giants Withdraw From Race To Sign Wantaway Arsenal Star

AC Milan have pulled out of the race to sign Arsenal holding midfielder Lucas Torreira, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Uruguayan international is said to be keen on leaving the Emirates but the Rossoneri don’t deem him a priority target for the next transfer window.

With no agreement on a transfer fee being reached between the two clubs for Torreira, the Serie A side have made a decision not to pursue the matter further.

The 24-year-old is now back fit and he has been training at the London Colney training centre. An ankle injury had kept him out of action since the 2-0 win over Portsmouth in the FA Cup back in March.

Torreira will likely be in Mikel Arteta’s squad when the Gunners face Manchester City on Wednesday, June 17th. The two teams will play their first competitive game following the Premier League’s return from a three-month break due to the global health crisis.
