AC Milan will not sell midfielder Franck Kessie even if they receive an offer in the region of €40m (£36m) to €50m (£45m) according to Calciomercato.it.
The Italian website reports that both Arsenal and Tottenham are tracking the Ivorian international but Milan see him as a key part of their squad and they are not willing to let him leave.
However, Kessie’s contract situation may give the Gunners some hope that a transfer could be possible in the near future. The 23-year-old’s current deal at the San Siro expires in 18 months time and he has yet to put pen to paper on an extension.
The Rossoneri are believed to be working very hard on the contract renewal, with the player having played a vital role in helping Milan get off to an unbeaten start in Serie A this campaign.
Whether Arsenal would need another player like Kessie, who is very much in the mould of Thomas Partey, it seems questionable. The London club’s focus will likely be on signing a playmaker in January.
