Scouting Reports Recommend Espanyol’s Hector Moreno

A new player is being monitored by Arsenal in hope that the issues within the defense could be addressed this winter. According to the Daily Mail, Mexican international Hector Moreno has become a high priority for Wenger who already sent scouts to check out the 26 year old during a game against Valencia. With his contract set to expire in 2016, there is a very big chance Espanyol will be interested in selling. After spending 4 years in Spain, Moreno could be looking for a new challenge. The idea of performing in the Champions League is probably the most appealing to him considering the fact that he did not get the chance to perform at the highest level possible. Since moving to Europe, he only played for AZ and Espanyol who don’t have much to do with the European competitions.

The Center back has reached the peak of his abilities it seems and has maintained a steady level of quality and confidence for over a year now. The biggest problem with Moreno is that he had some health issues that have kept him back for almost a year put together. Even though, other than the two fractures he had, the 26 year old did not have any other problems, it will still be difficult for Wenger to decide if the Mexican international does not pose a risk.

Risk and all, he could still be worth it as he is currently valued at £7million which sounds like a great deal for Arsenal.
