Sources have it that Schneiderlin could still move to the Emirates despite both the club and the player’s denial that a move is possible during the near future. According to the Telegraph though, Southampton’s midfielder will have to choose from one of two destinations for next year. He will either move to North London or join Tottenham in their attempts to reconstruct the team for the third time in the past three years.

Schneiderlin has been a target for Arsenal for a long time. Even since Song left, Wenger was sending his scouts to keep an eye on the 25 year old midfielder who would be of much use to Arsenal right now. With 4 of the most important midfielders out, and with the squad missing a defensive player to cover for Wilshere, Ramsey or Arteta, the Gunners need to make an offer that Southampton will not be able to refuse as Spurs are seriously interested in the French midfielder.

The Gunners do have the advantage of a great relationship between clubs. Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Calum Chambers were easy to transfer despite being some of Southampton’s most impressive players. Arsenal will have to fight hard for the 25 year old midfielder who appears to be Totthenham’s only option to fill in their gaps.
