Schalke In The Dark Over Draxler’s Future

Schalke In The Dark Over Draxler’s Future

With just 3 days remaining for the transfer deadline day, it is believed that Arsene Wenger is working round the clock with his team in Germany, trying to complete the Draxler deal in time. He has been locked into negotiations with the German outfit for the past few weeks now who are pushing towards a transfer fee of £37 million which will meet his release clause, however the Gunners are hopeful of getting him for cheaper.

Insiders in Germany are reporting that Schalke are personally resolved to losing him in the current transfer window itself, rather than in the summer as it was initially thought. That was more evident when the 20-year old did not feature for Schalke in their 3-0 win at Hamburg. What further confirmed matters was sporting director Horst Heldt’s admission that he will not rule out any possibilities between now and Friday, report Metro.

He spoke to the media prior to Schalke’s game and was quoted as saying, “I can’t exclude anything, I don’t know what other clubs are planning. I only know what happens in our club – and nothing happens at the moment, so we don’t bother with this.”

“We are very calm with this thing.”

Wenger is working tirelessly trying to complete this deal in the remaining time of the transfer window. With Schalke loosening their stance on Draxler, do you see Wenger possibly beating the race against time and making this mega announcement soon?
