According to the Brazilian who is now on loan with Gremio, Emirates Stadium is where he learned to play at a world class level. The full-back who disappointed while playing for the North London team is eager to return to the Gunners. His loan to Gremio expires at the end of the season, but he might not be part of Wenger’s future plan for next season.

London Evening Standard reveals that Arsenal are looking to invest in some new more expensive established players, who are under the age category Santos is part of. Gremio’s current defender is now 30 years old and is probably going to move to another team, possibly another Premier League team if he has his way.

Santos was heavily criticized after a lot of inconsistent performances that disappointed Arsenal fans. He has been with the Gunners since 2011, but did not manage to impress even if has been given a lot of chances that came because of his team-mates’ injuries. Despite the fact that Wenger had many issues with finding someone to become a first eleven regular left back, Santos still was not worth the financial outlay.

It is very unlikely that the North London club will get their money back, especially considering Santos’ poor form and several injuries that have influenced his performances during the past two years.

In recent statements, Santos also spoke about the possibility of him returning to Arsenal, but was sceptical when speaking about his future with the Gunners. His main problem is not solved, and things are not looking good for Arsenal’s defender.
