Sanchez has already decided which club he will join

The future of Alexis Sanchez is still a hugely hot topic among the world of football. The Chilean was subject to a deadline day bid from Manchester City, and looked almost certain to leave the Emirates. But as we all know, he remains a Gunner for now and there are still plenty of rumours surrounding what might be next.

As well as City chasing the forward, Bayern Munich were also said to be chasing the 28-year-old’s signature during the summer. But president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has now all but ended his side’s pursuit of the forward.

With Sanchez’s contract due to expire next summer, it is understood that Arsenal could be willing to offload him in the January transfer window, but Bayern does not seem like his likely destination – with Rummenigge saying he expects him to move elsewhere.

“I think Sanchez has already decided which club [to join], so I suppose that the door will be closed in January,” he told Sky Germany. “That’s not an issue, and he is no direct substitute for Robert Lewandowski as he is not a real centre forward.”

Sanchez’s future is still as unclear as it was at the end of the summer, but Rummenigge’s latest comments do hint that the player will leave the club in January.
