Aaron Ramsdale wasn’t particularly impressive in the defeat to West Ham.

The 25-year-old got blocked off for the Hammers’ opening goal and, while the third goal was deflected, the keeper failed to stop a shot that was right at him.

Raya’s position as the club’s no.1 is, therefore, safe for now. The Spaniard didn’t have a lot to do against Sheffield United last weekend but he is guaranteed to be a lot busier at St James’ Park.

The Magpies are expected to put Raya under a lot of pressure and he needs to be up for the challenge.
