Sagna Stalling On New Contract – Wenger

The Frenchman, Bacary Sagna’s contract expires at the end of the season and the defender is free to talk to other clubs and discuss a potential move. It has been widely reported that Sagna wants an improved financial offer from Arsenal, who are not willing to negotiate such terms.

The 31-year-old has lucrative offers from some top European clubs and the wing-back is also open to joining Manuel Pellegrini’s Manchester City in the summer. According to the Standard, Sagna’s exit is now imminent with Wenger revealing that an offer has been made to him and the club are currently waiting to hear back from him.

Wenger said, “At the moment, talks are not progressing. We know what we want from him, he knows what is on the table and that’s where we are. Yes [I am less confident he will stay], the ball is not in our camp anymore, it is in his camp, and he needs to come back to us.”
