Sagna Lays Down His Demands!

Sagna Lays Down His Demands!

Bacary Sagna’s contract saga has gone on for quite a while now, with the Frenchman very publicly refusing to sign an extension with the Gunners. The right-back has been at the club since 2007, and signed an extension in 2008 which saw him pocket £60,000 per week. However, his pay has stayed the same ever since. Arsenal have tabled a new one-year deal for him which however does not include a pay raise, which has understandably upset him.

Also, Sagna is into the final six months of his current contract, and he is unhappy about the fact that his contract situation was not dealt with earlier. He feels that he has been one of the consistent performers in the team for the last few seasons and has stuck by the London club while other big name players left in search of greener pastures. He believes that his loyalty should be recognized and rewarded. He has placed his demands of a three-year deal worth £100,000 per week, as the Mirror report.

The defender very much wishes to stay at the Emirates Stadium next season, but he feels that he will have to move on if his demands are overlooked. Will Arsenal buckle under his demands and offer him the deal he is looking for?
