Arsenal have been dealt yet another blow as they face the prospect of losing Sagna in the summer, who is being tipped to make a dramatic switch to Arsenal’s domestic rivals Chelsea.

The 31-year old has made his wish clear of earning a contract of at least 2 years along with a weekly salary hike, which currently stands at £60,000 and has been constant since 2008. Arsenal have now agreed to offer him a 2-year contract, however are sticking with the £60,000 weekly salary. This has upset Sagna who has rejected this offer from the London giants, who strongly feels that he should be rewarded with a better financial package for the loyalty he has shown to the club in the last 8 years.

Nevertheless, he is widely tipped to run down his contract and walk away from the Emirates Stadium for free. He is not short of admirers, as the list of interested clubs include the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Monaco. Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea, who snatched the lead in the league from Arsenal over the weekend and kept it after both clubs tied on Wednesday night, are understood to be highly keen to acquire his signature, report the Daily Star.
