Sagna Gives Ultimatum To Arsenal!

Sagna’s contract expires at the end of the season and there has been no evidence of a new deal being signed any time soon. The French international reportedly has big money offers on the table from Monaco and Galatasaray worth £100,000-a-week.

Arsenal currently pay Sagna £60,000-a-week and want to offer the same terms for the next two years. However, the defender even has Chelsea and Manchester City eyeing his situation and will demand a pay rise – he has not had a pay rise since 2008.

At a time when all their top players have left the club, Sagna has remained loyal to Wenger and, according to the Daily Star, he wants Wenger to acknowledge his loyalty by offering an improved deal otherwise he will leave the club in the summer.

A source close to Sagna said, “The player’s first option is to stay at Arsenal. He will consider signing a new three-year contract, salary £5m to £6m a season, plus signing-on fee and bonuses. It also has to include a testimonial at the end of the deal, when he would have completed 10 years at Arsenal.”

He added, “There is one more round of talks left before the season finishes. He is very keen to finish his career in an Arsenal shirt but wants to be rewarded for staying loyal to the club when others walked out. And he has had no pay rise since 2008.”
