Romano Makes Big Claim About Edu’s Trip To Spain As Arsenal Are Joined By 2 PL Rivals In Pursuing Teenage Prodigy

Arsenal technical director did NOT travel to Spain to hold talks about signing Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The teenager’s agents are based in the UK so there would have been no need for Edu to fly out for discussions but Romano does believe there is strong interest in the player.

At least three Premier League teams (including Arsenal presumably) are thought to be keen on snapping up Pino, with the Spanish international unlikely to be sold on the cheap.

The 19-year-old’s release clause is reportedly €80m (£68m) but Villarreal boss Unai Emery said last week that the club are willing to listen to offers for the player, so it’s unlikely that the La Liga club will hold out for that much.

Some have claimed that Pino could be available for around €45m (£38m) but Romano seems to be suggesting that Villarreal could seek a higher amount, especially if other clubs are involved.
