Romano Hints That Gabriel Jesus’s International Teammate Could Be Arsenal’s Main Alternative To City Forward

Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus’s decision on his next club could have a “domino” effect on where Everton’s Richarlison ends up, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Arsenal are favourites to sign Jesus, but they have also been mentioned as a potential suitor for his Brazilian international teammate and, writing in his column for CaughtOffside.com, Romano suggested that the futures of the two players are intertwined:

“I think his [Richarlison’s] future may be linked to the choice of Gabriel Jesus, a sort of “domino” of Brazilian strikers in the coming weeks.”

It should be noted that Tottenham have also been linked with both Jesus and Richarlison, so there could be a situation where if Jesus signs for Arsenal, Richarlison moves to Spurs and vice versa.

There would be a sizeable difference in terms of cost, though. Reports in Brazil have claimed that Everton are holding out for around €80m (£68m) to sell Richarlison, while Jesus may be offloaded for only €50m (£43m).

When it comes to Richarlison, there is also the additional factor of other teams getting involved. Both Chelsea and Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old.
