Roma will look to use Cengiz Under in their next offer for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, according to the Corriere Dello Sport.
The Italian publication claims there is a sizeable difference between the two clubs in the valuation of Xhaka. Roma only want to bid €15m (£12.9m), while the Gunners are holding out for €25m (£21.5m).
To bridge the gap, it is believed that the Serie A club will use Under as part of the deal. The Turkish international has been on Arsenal’s radar in the past and the Giallorossi are hoping that they are still interested.
After seemingly losing out to Aston Villa for Emi Buendia, the London club are keen to sign a playmaker who can play off the right flank, and Under would certainly fit the criteria.
However, he is coming off the back of a poor season on loan with Leicester, who opted against taking up their option to buy the 23-year-old. With that in mind, it would be a surprise if the Gunners accepted the player in part exchange for Xhaka.
