Robin Van Persie Still One Of Wenger’s Favorite Players

According to Metro, Robin van Persie could be one of Arsenal’s unexpected summer targets. With the Gunners in definite need of some real fire power, the Dutchman might just consider returning to Emirates after spending two seasons playing for Manchester United. Leaving North London was not easy for the 30 year old striker who spent 8 years performing for Wenger’s side.

The biggest reason for his departure was the same as it was for many other important names who decided to part ways with Arsenal. The lack of trophies was a definite deal-breaker for footballers like Henry and Fabregas who despite being totally dedicated to the club and its fans, had to leave in order to find glory.

Unfortunately for Van Persie, Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure might have just changed United’s entire perspective when it comes to the future of the club. They currently look like a team set on building something for the seasons to come which is exactly what was happening when the Dutchman left Arsenal. The Gunners who are now fighting for the Premier League title seem to have the upper hand on Moyes’s side which has a hard time adapting to change. With that in mind, Van Persie could very well consider returning to Emirates where things are starting to look really great in terms of performance and especially investments.

When being asked about this possible move, Wenger admitted he would be happy to see a striker as great as Van Persie return to perform for Arsenal and the Frenchman did not deny the possibility of a future move.
