Robin Van Persie May Well Be Regretting Leaving Emirates

Former Arsenal captain, Robin van Persie has taken Ferguson’s departure pretty hard. It seems that the striker only left the Emirates to work with Ferguson. Manchester’s former manager was the one who convinced the striker to leave the Gunners behind. According to Metro, things are not going to well with Van Gaal. Rio Ferdinand recently commented on how Ferguson’s departure affected the team. The former English international pointed out that Van Persie was the player who has had the biggest trouble adjusting to the change in manager.

Van Persie’s form has dropped considerably since his first season. After scoring an impressive 26 goals on his debut, the Dutchman lost his edge. Ferdinand who was there to see the major changes which took Manchester down, recently told the media that the former Gunner was devastated by the fact that he had to start from scratch. After Ferguson left, Manchester had one of the worst seasons in history. Despite making massive investments this season under van Gaal, the Old Trafford side are still struggling to keep up with the middle of the pack which is unacceptable for such a giant club.

Arsenal were linked to Van Persie a year after the Dutchman left. Unfortunately for both parties, no transfer went down. The striker decide to continue with Manchester United despite the rough patch the club is currently facing. It might have been a mistake on behalf of Van Persie who clearly would have had a bigger chance to win a trophy with Arsenal than he does with Man. United.
