REPORT: Sevilla Looking To Make January Move For Young Arsenal Centre-Half

Sevilla are weighing up a move for Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos, according to reports in Spain.

The La Liga side are said to have already watched the Greek centre-back with their scouts having sent back positive reports on the 21-year-old.

Mavropanos hasn’t played this season due to a groin injury and is only just getting back to full fitness.

Whether he’d been loaned out to allow him to regain his match sharpness during the second half of the season, it remains to be seen.

With Rob Holding out for the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, it would be a surprise if manager Unai Emery decided to let Mavropanos leave.

Considering that the Gunners boss has regularly employed three at the back in recent weeks, he would surely welcome another centre-half as an option for the first team.

Whether Arsenal’s reported interest in Sevilla’s Ever Banega will have any bearing on a deal for Mavropanos, we shall have to wait and see.
