REPORT: Harry Kane Could Prove Pivotal In Arsenal’s Chances Of Signing 300K A Week Winger

Arsenal are favourites to sign Raheem Sterling if Manchester City fail in their bid to use him as part of their offer for Tottenham’s Harry Kane, according to the Sun.

The Citizens are reportedly prepared to hand over both Sterling and Gabriel Jesus in a part-exchange deal for Kane to reduce the cost of the transfer.

Kane is believed to be valued at around £150m by Spurs, so using the two players is viewed as the best way to get an agreement between the two clubs.

However, while Jesus’s £90,000 a week wages won’t be an issue, Sterling’s £300,000 a week salary would break Tottenham’s current wage structure so the prospect of him agreeing personal terms with the Lilywhites is low.

If that proves to be the case then the Gunners could well have the best chance of snapping up Sterling instead. Manager Mikel Arteta is said to be keen on signing the 26-year-old, and, unlike Spurs, they should be able to meet the England international wage demands. Whether they can come up with the funds to finance the transfer is, though, another matter entirely.
