Barcelona are likely to consider a “good offer” for centre-back Eric Garcia during the January transfer window, according to Sport.

The Catalan publication claim that Arsenal are interested in the former Manchester City defender and it is believed that manager Mikel Arteta “would like” to recruit him after previously working with him during his time at the Etihad.

Garcia only moved to the Camp Nou eighteen months ago but he has found himself behind the likes of Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde in the pecking order this season.

Barca boss Xavi has already stated that he would like to keep his current squad together this month but it seems those above him in the hierarchy at the La Liga club may have other ideas.

Garcia, who has been capped 19 times by Spain, is a very capable player, but you do have to wonder whether he would be a priority signing for the Gunners, considering that William Saliba, Rob Holding, Ben White, Gabriel and even Takehiro Tomiyasu can all play in the centre of defence.
