REPORT: ‘Everything Indicates’ Arsenal Will Make ‘Attempt’ To Secure 70M Rated Argentinian International

Arsenal are very interested in signing Real Betis holding midfielder Guido Rodriguez this summer, according to El Desmarque.

The Spanish website say “everything indicates” that the Gunners will make an “attempt” to snap up the Argentinian international when the transfer window opens.

Rodriguez was originally linked with a move to the Emirates in March and it does appear that Arsenal are keeping tabs on the 27-year-old ahead of a possible swoop at the end of the season.

The midfielder currently has a €80m (£70m) buyout fee, although it is unlikely that the Gunners would consider making an offer anywhere close to that figure.

Betis signed Rodriguez from Mexican side Club America for just €3m (£2.6m) in the 2020 January transfer window so, while they would expect to make a sizeable profit from his sale, they are expected to demand his release clause.

With Dani Ceballos returning to Real Madrid in the summer, and uncertainty around the futures of other midfielders, it seems manager Mikel Arteta has found a possible target who could strengthen his options in the middle of the park.
