REPORT: Arteta Plays Key Role As Arsenal See Off City And Other PL Rivals To Clinch Deal For Teenage Prodigy

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has “convinced” Folarin Balogun that his future lies with the Gunners, with the 19-year-old now expected to sign a new deal, ending speculation about his future, according to the Daily Mail.

The likes of Manchester City, Everton and Crystal Palace were all believed to be interested in the striker with his current contract set to expire in the summer.

However, Balogun now looks destined to stay at the Emirates, despite having also had proposals from at least two clubs abroad, Monaco and Stuttgart, who were already allowed to speak to the player from the start of January.

Whether the forward has been given any assurances about his game time, we shall have to wait and see. The teenager has made five appearances for the first team this campaign, scoring two goals, but he hasn’t featured since the 4-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup back in December.
