REPORT: Arteta Already Identifying Transfer Targets Ahead Of Arsenal Appointment

Prospective Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has already discussed potential transfer targets ahead of his appointment at the Emirates, according to the Independent.

It is said that the Spaniard could be looking to clear out a number of players, with the board, in particular, concerned that there are too many in the squad who simply don’t care enough about the club.

However, how much room for manoeuvre Arteta will have in the transfer market next month, remains up for debate. There have been claims from other media outlets that there will be limited funds to spend in January.

Whether negotiations over potential budgets is delaying the Manchester City coach’s appointment, it is not known, but the Independent do say that he is expected to be announced by the end of the week.

Arteta is reportedly looking to bring in at least two of City’s backroom staff, in fellow Spaniard Rodolfo Borrell and scout Sam Fagbemi.
