REPORT: Arsenal Target £21.7m Rated Portuguese Ace With First Approach Having ‘Already Been Made’

Arsenal are targeting Olympiakos winger Daniel Podence, according to Sportime. The Greek news outlet reports the first move has “already been made” by the Gunners to secure the Portuguese star.

There is also believed to be one other unnamed Premier League side interested in the 23-year-old, and a number of Spanish clubs, including Sevilla, are also said to be pursuing the wide man.

Olympiakos are reportedly holding out for €25m (£21.7m) for Podence, who made the switch from Sporting Lisbon for just €7m in the summer of 2018.

The midfielder’s agent is Jorge Mendes, whose close connections with Wolves would make it likely that they are the other English team involved, although that hasn’t been confirmed.

Podence has made 14 appearances for Olympiakos this season, scoring two goals; one of which was against Tottenham in the 2-2 draw last month. Last campaign, the winger managed eight goals and provided nine assists in 41 games.
