REPORT: Arsenal Star ‘Not’ Impressed After Arteta Confirms Contract Talks Delay

Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has “not been impressed” by the Gunners’ reluctance to enter talks over a new contract, according to The Sun.

The English tabloid claims that the London club are not willing to discuss a long-term deal and would be more open to a simple twelve-month extension.

Lacazette is, however, frustrated by the lack of discussions and he is unlikely to have welcomed manager Mikel Arteta’s remarks on his situation last week.

Asked about the Frenchman’s future, Arteta said that any talks would have to be put on hold “until the end of the season”.

Lacazette will be able to speak to foreign clubs in the New Year, with the likes of Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan reportedly interested in snapping up the 30-year-old.

Leaving it to the last minute may suggest that Arsenal are hoping that he is convinced to stay after having a good campaign for the club, but they are taking a big chance leaving it so late.
