REPORT: Arsenal Star In Line For Shock Loan Exit After Falling Foul Of Emery

Arsenal are weighing up whether to loan out Mesut Ozil in the January transfer window, according to the Times.

The German playmaker has been unable to adapt to manager Unai Emery’s tactics, and it could see the 30-year-old being offloaded next month.

Ozil was left out of the matchday squad entirely against Tottenham on Wednesday for the Carabao Cup clash. Following the game, the Gunners boss attributed the midfielder’s absence to a “tactical decision,” although since then he has said the player is still in his plans.

If he were to leave, the big question will be whether any club could afford the midfielder’s wages. His £350,000 a week salary would prove problematic for all but Europe’s top teams.

If an offer came in from China, that may prove to be a solution, but it seems any potential loan departure from the Emirates may have to be dependent on Arsenal still paying a sizeable portion of his earnings.

Serie A side Inter Milan have been the side most heavily linked with Ozil in recent months, and a move to Italy looks to be the likeliest outcome currently.
