REPORT: Arsenal Set To Scout Xhaka’s Potential Replacement This Evening

Arsenal will be sending scouts to see Dominik Szoboszlai in action for Hungary as they step up their attempts to replace Granit Xhaka, according to the Football Insider.

The website claims the Gunners will send representatives to watch the Red Bull Salzburg midfielder when his country plays Wales in a crucial Euro 2020 qualifier this evening.

Szoboszlai was first linked with Arsenal all the way back in February when it was reported that the London club were keeping tabs on the Hungarian, along with Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Juventus.

Since then, the 19-year-old has come out and said that he was honoured to be linked with the Gunners, but no official offer was ever made for the player.

However, with Xhaka likely to depart the Emirates, it appears Szoboszlai is now seen as a genuine contender to replace the former captain.  The Hungarian international has scored four goals and provided four assists in 16 appearances this campaign.
