REPORT: Arsenal ‘Set To Beat’ Rivals To Loan Signing Of 80K A Week Striker After ‘Compromise’ Is Reached

Arsenal are “set to beat” West Ham and Tottenham to the signing of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, according to the Sun journalist Andrew Dillon.

The Gunners are thought to be happy to take the 23-year-old on loan with an obligation to buy for £40m once a certain number of appearances are made.

Chelsea were reportedly struggling to find a buyer who would match their asking price and Dillon claims they see the loan deal as the “ideal compromise”.

The Blues want to get Abraham’s £80,000 a week wages off the club’s books, and while they are not 100% guaranteed to get the £40m, it is believed that the England international’s departure will help facilitate their move to sign a new number nine.

For Arsenal, paying nothing upfront for Abraham would be an excellent deal as it would free up resources to sign players in other areas of the pitch such as a new goalkeeper, right-back and playmaker.
