REPORT: Arsenal Ready To Offer Saliba, Martinelli Or Lacazette In Attempt To Land England Star

Arsenal will offer money, plus one player, as they step up their efforts to sign Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website reports that the Gunners are prepared to use William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli or Alexandre Lacazette in part exchange for the England international.

Sterling is thought to be unsettled at the Ethiad Stadium, having had his game time reduced, whilst also being locked in negotiations over a new contract.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has worked with the 26-year-old before so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Spaniard was interested in bringing the player to the Emirates.

However, Calciomercato‘s claims about a part exchange offer do seem rather speculative. Saliba is on loan to Marseille until June so a move for Sterling could only take place next summer.

With Lacazette, the Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season so, unless an approach is made in January, it’s highly unlikely he’d be used in any bid. The likeliest candidate would be Martinelli who has struggled for minutes under Arteta this campaign.
