Villarreal have tabled a loan offer for Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, according to the Football Insider. The website claims the bid includes the option to buy the Frenchman for £30m next summer.
The 21-year-old has been put up for sale by the Gunners, after falling out with head coach Mikel Arteta, and it appears Unai Emery is keen on being reunited with his former player.
The Spaniard was appointed Villarreal boss last month and he has already gone about revamping his squad by signing former Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin and his teammate Dani Parejo from Valencia.
Whether the Gunners would accept a loan to buy offer for Guendouzi, it is doubtful. The sale of the France Under 21 international is important for raising funds for transfers.
The London club are currently unable to match Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey’s £45m release clause but Guendouzi’s sale this summer could help finance the move.
