REPORT: Arsenal Lining Up Free Transfer Swoop For Belgian International

Arsenal could look to snap up Paris Saint-Germain full-back Thomas Meunier on a free transfer next summer, according to Calciomercato.com. The Italian website reports that the Belgian is also being tracked by Juventus.

His current contract at PSG expires in June, and while he has stated that he is keen on staying put, it is believed that the French club are not currently considering offering him a new deal.

Meunier has only started one of his team’s five league games this season and has been an unused substitute in PSG’s last three league outings, with France Under 21 international Colin Dagba having taken his place in the starting eleven.

Arsenal have had to play Ainsley Maitland-Niles at right-back during Hector Bellerin’s absence, but the 22-year-old has spoken out in recent days to say he would prefer to play in his favoured position in midfield.

Meunier could, therefore, present a cheap solution next summer and strengthen manager Unai Emery’s options at fullback.
