REPORT: Arsenal ‘In First Place’ To Sign 102M Rated Serie A Marksman As They ‘Aim’ To Follow Up Mudryk Deal

Arsenal remain “in first place” to snap up Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic next summer even if they secure the signature of Mykhaylo Mudryk this month, according to Calciomercato.it.

The Italian website claims the Gunners will “aim” to sign the Serbian international, having failed in their previous attempt to recruit the Serbian international last year.

Vlahovic’s future at Juve is uncertain. The Serie A club are under investigation by the Italian authorities for financial irregularities and if they are the subject of fines and penalties, it could force them into selling some of their best players.

However, Calciomercato report that the Bianconeri may still demand between €115m (£102m) and €120m (£106m) for Vlahovic, which means that Arsenal would have to break their transfer record to get him. It is also believed that there may be competition from Manchester United and Tottenham for the striker, which could complicate matters further.

With Mudryk likely to cost in excess of €70m (£62m), it would be a surprise if Mikel Arteta’s side were in a position to splash the cash on another forward as well.
