REPORT: Arsenal Eyeing Summer Swoop For World Cup Winner

Arsenal are weighing up a move for Roma midfielder Steven Nzonzi, according to reports in Italy.

The Frenchman was heavily linked with the Gunners before he moved to the Giallorossi but it appears that the World Cup winner could still end up at the Emirates.

It is believed that Nzonzi’s future could be tied to the club’s sporting director Monchi.

The Spaniard has been tipped to take the technical director position at Arsenal, along with Ajax Director of Football Marc Overmars.

Monchi signed Nzonzi for both Sevilla and Roma during his spells as sporting director and could look to take him to the Gunners as well.

The French midfielder has featured regularly under manager Eusebio Di Francesco in Italy, having made 28 appearances in all competitions since his €30m switch in August.

Nzonzi could, though, be tempted by a return to the Premier League where he previously played for both Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.
