REPORT: Arsenal ‘Could Cash In’ On Striker Who Is Currently 5th In The Race For The Golden Shoe

Arsenal “could cash in” on striker Folarin Balogun at the end of the season, according to The Sun.

The English tabloid claims that the 21-year-old has less than eighteen months left on his contract at the Emirates, and the Gunners will have a decision to make on his future in the summer.

Balogun is currently on loan at Reims in France, and he is leading the goalscoring charts, having bagged 14 goals in 21 Ligue One appearances.

That outstanding return means he is fifth in the race for European Golden Shoe, behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski but ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.

It should be pointed out that Transfermarkt‘s information suggests Balogun’s contract expires in 2025, not in 2024 as The Sun claims, but it will still be interesting to see whether manager Mikel Arteta wants to keep the player at Arsenal.
