REPORT: 113-Cap Arsenal All-Star Set To Leave The Club In The Summer

Arsenal midfielder and former club captain Granit Xhaka is set to leave the club in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

The Swiss superstar is undergoing talks with Bayer Leverkusen – as he is still under contract with the Gunners, they will need to pay a fee to acquire his services. The amount they are set to pay is expected to be in the region of £13 million.

In Romano’s tweet, he wrote: “Granit Xhaka, set to leave Arsenal at the end of the season. No negotiations over new deal and plan to part ways in June. Bayer Leverkusen are in advanced talks to sign him — €15m fee. Understand personal terms are almost agreed over four year deal — June 2027.”

How much will Arsenal miss Granit Xhaka?

Before this season, many Arsenal fans would have been glad to see Xhaka leave – however, after an impressive campaign as a box-to-box player, his absence will be felt.

He will need replacing – Arsenal do not have a like-for-like swap within their ranks. Thankfully, there is no shortage of quality, energetic midfielders in the world right now.

Conor Gallagher from Chelsea or Franck Kessie from Barcelona could both be adequate replacements for the 113-cap Swiss star – who would you like to see the Gunners bring in?
