Arsenal will recall Eddie Nketiah from his loan spell at Leeds United after being left dissatisfied by his game time under manager Marcelo Bielsa, according to the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old has started just two games since his move to Elland Road, with neither of those coming in a league game, and interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg has already intimated that the situation is not ideal:
“I need to be careful [what I say] but I think Eddie is a great player. If he goes on loan we want him to play football and get minutes otherwise they can maybe be here.”
“I feel a bit sorry for him because he is a great player and the future of this club. When he has had his chance he scores goals and that’s what he is about.”
Nketiah had been out with an abdominal injury for four games before returning against Middlesbrough last weekend, but his lack of starts will likely see his time at Leeds cut short in January.
It is believed that Bristol City are leading the battle to secure the striker on loan for the second half of the campaign. The Robins wanted the player in the summer but lost out in the race for the player.
With manager Lee Johnson lacking depth up front, Nketiah could well get an extended run in the first team if he makes the switch to Ashton Gate.
