Reliable Journalist Claims Arsenal Are ‘Welcoming Interest From Abroad’ For Striker

Arsenal are prepared to let Alexandre Lacazette leave the club this summer, according to Football.London‘s Arsenal correspondent Chris Wheatley.

The journalist has had a pretty decent track record with exclusives in recent months and he claims that the Gunners are “welcoming interest from abroad” in the 29-year-old who will have just one year remaining on his contract in June.

Monaco, Roma and Atletico Madrid are believed to be Lacazette’s main suitors and, with the Frenchman very unlikely to be handed an extension to his current deal, it appears Arsenal will encourage offers from the three clubs.

Technical director Edu is keen not to hand lengthy, lucrative new contracts to older players and it seems that, despite Lacazette being praised by manager Mikel Arteta in recent weeks, the decision has been made to let him go.

Lacazette may not be the only forward leaving either, with Folarin Balogun looking destined to depart when his contract expires in the summer.
