Real President’s Comments Raise Doubts Over Arsenal’s Attempts To Keep Ceballos

Arsenal will find it tough to re-sign Dani Ceballos on loan for another twelve months, according to El Confidencial. The Spanish publication claims the Gunners have offered to keep the 23-year-old for another season but Real Madrid are in desperate need of the cash from his sale.

The Spanish club have already asked their players to take a salary cut, and when asked about potential signings this summer, president Florentino Perez signalled that no major deals are likely:

“The situation is very bad and there will be no great signings. It is very difficult to ask the players to lower their salaries and make signings of this kind.”

In fact, El Confidencial claims that Real will be looking to make significant savings through selling off some of their squad players. They have already earned €40m from the sale of Achraf Hakimi to Inter Milan but more could be needed.

Ceballos is said to be in the sights of his former club Real Betis and city rivals Sevilla, and while it is thought that the player is keen on staying in London on loan for another year, Real could well have other ideas.
