“Ready To Evaluate Major Offers” Journalist Claims Arsenal Target Is Available For 68M But There’s A Catch

Inter Milan are prepared to sell striker Lautaro Martinez for around €80m (£68m) this summer, according to Italian journalist Marco Barzagli.

Arsenal have reportedly made enquiries about the Argentinian international but Barzagli claims a move to the Gunners is unlikely to interest the 23-year-old, who has his heart set on a move to Spain:

“I know that Lautaro in the event of a farewell to Inter would only like Spain, one of Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid. He does not want England, the Arsenal hypothesis is not taken into consideration by the Argentine. Inter are ready to evaluate major offers, worth around €80 million, but for the moment there are no proposals of this type.”

Considering Real Madrid and Barcelona don’t have the money to finance a deal for Martinez, he won’t be joining those two clubs this summer, while Atletico are not in a position to make an offer without selling players.

Coincidentally, the La Liga champions have actually been linked with Alexandre Lacazette in recent days so if they did snap up the Frenchman, it would close Martinez’s last avenue to Spain.

In that scenario, you would think the Argentine may be more interested in staying with Inter but if the Nerazzurri are desperate for cash, and Arsenal are willing to pay up, there is still a small chance that it could happen.
