Ramsey Makes It Four!

Ramsey Makes It Four!

Around a year ago, a Welshman looked desolate and lost on the football pitch, unknown of the happenings around him. Despite being of central midfield mould, he was deployed on the right flank by his manager Arsene Wenger. He did not fret, and gave it his all out wide, but nothing worked out for him. After all, he was not the quickest, nor the silkiest player one usually associates with a winger.

Fast forward that to Wednesday night’s game at Borussia Dortmund – last season’s European runner-up’s own backyard – when that same Welshman dived in to guide the ball past a despairing Roman Weidenfeller after meeting Olivier Giroud’s header. It was courtesy of this man that Arsenal managed to beat the mighty Dortmund – braving the hostile atmosphere.

That goal was Aaron Ramsey’s 11th of the season, already. The midfielder has come such a long way in such a short time, and his growth has spurted ever since this season kicked off. Despite the buzz created by the Gunners’ big money signing Mesut Ozil, it is Ramsey who is stealing away the accolades, despite Ozil’s strong start to his Arsenal career.

Metro now believe that with the verdict for the month of October once again going in Ramsey’s favor, this is the 4th consecutive month where the 24-year old has been recognized for his performances on the pitch. He is absolutely unplayable this season, and all he needs is a whiff of goal, and he will manage to score. We know that he can score solo goals like the one against Norwich City, or some sumptuous ones like the one against Liverpool; now after last night, we also learnt that he can score a poacher’s goal.

What is next for him now? Can he go even higher from where he is at the moment? He is having the time of his life out on the pitch. Can he maintain this? Will he win an unprecedented 5th Player of the Month award next time around?
