Arsenal fans have been reacting to the news that defender Takehiro Tomiyasu will miss the rest of the season with an injury.
Tomiyasu had been in recovery for most of the year after he suffered a knee injury in the summer whilst on international duty with Japan.
However, he returned to full training and even made an appearance as a substitute in a Premier League game against Southampton in October.
But after that, he continued to have issues with his knee, and Arsenal decided he should undergo a second surgery on his leg, which has now successfully happened.
It means that alongside Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, Tomiyasu will miss the rest of the season as he recovers.
Arsenal announced the news on X, and fans reacted, wishing the Japanese defender a quick recovery…

Terrible news. I really feel for Tomi. A fit Tomiyasu is great. I hope we will be able to see him 100% fit and playing for Arsenal again in the future.

Arsenal have five players currently injured
Tomiyasu has been injured for most of the season, and as mentioned, he is out for the rest of the season alongside Havertz and Jesus.
Gabriel Martinelli is currently injured too as he’s dealing with a hamstring injury that he suffered against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup semi-final – he is expected to return before the end of the season.
Bukayo Saka is also nearing a return, as it looks like he could be back for the Gunners’ game against Chelsea on Sunday 16 March. If not, Saka will likely be available for April 1st, when Mikel Arteta‘s side play against Fulham.
