Pundit Claims Arsenal Have Just Signed Up “A £100 Million Player”

TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara believes Arsenal have “a £100m player” in Bukayo Saka.

The winger put pen to paper on a new four-year contract earlier this week, ending speculation about his future. O’Hara, who is not known for complimenting the Gunners, claims the London club have kept hold of a gem, but he does hope the lucrative new deal doesn’t go to the player’s head:

“He’s a £100 million player, isn’t he?! If you wanted to buy him now. If Arsenal were looking to strengthen in that position and they wanted someone of that quality, you are talking Bukayo Saka. My only advice to Bukayo Saka, and he probably doesn’t need it, I hope that he has got the right people around him is that it doesn’t last forever and don’t think it’s going to last forever. Invest it wisely and don’t waste it on stupid materialistic things.”

Saka is a very humble, self-effacing young man so it’s unlikely that the reported £195,000 a week salary he is now earning will affect him in any meaningful way.

The contract announcement does, though, put a lid on a lengthy saga that stretches back more than a year. The likes of Manchester City and Liverpool had been linked with bids for the player but there was never any doubt that he wanted to remain at the Emirates.

Arsenal Have Other Contract Situations to Resolve

In addition to Saka, Aaron Ramsdale has also signed a new deal recently, but there are other players who are due extensions.

William Saliba’s situation, in particular, is pretty urgent. He could leave at the end of next season if his future isn’t resolved soon. Reports also suggest that captain Martin Odegaard is in line to be given an improved contract very soon.
