PSG To Help Arsenal Sign Champions League Finalist

Edinson Cavani is a name that has come up in speculation over and over at the Emirates. The Uruguayan striker has been a target for Wenger for two seasons now but PSG’s financial expectations prevented Arsenal from signing another top-class striker. According to Metro, the Uruguay international might still be part of a deal which will add some extra power to the Gunners’ attack. Juventus have confirmed interest in Cavani and might just sign the striker who is no longer keen on staying in Paris. This move can push another one of Wenger’s favorite strikers to move to London. Fernando Llorente who is under contract with the Italian side until 2017 will have little chances of being part of the starting squad for next season if a new goal scorer is brought in. With that in mind, the Spaniard could accept an offer from the Emirates club.

The 30 year old who since moving to Juventus has only managed to score 26 times in 86 games looks like a decent substitute for Giroud or Welbeck. He also looks like a great player to have for those tight game endings when all that the team needs is a strong striker to turn corners and free kicks into goals.

Llorente is definitely an option to consider but only if Arsenal are not looking to bring in a striker to rival Giroud’s place in the side. The Spaniard will cost Arsenal around £10m which might be too much for a 30 year old forward who only managed to find the net 8 times in 41 appearances this season. Maybe Wenger should spend that money on a younger less experienced player who can grow into a world class striker.
